There are usually a few loose ends up there. A cold water tank or pipework sitting off the old stack needs somewhere else to go, an aerial fixed to the chimney has to be relocated before the pot comes down, and the loft hatch route needs protecting on the way in and out. In the SE23 and SE26 houses with steeper roofs there is real space to gain. We photograph the loft at survey so what we find is agreed rather than remembered differently later.
