The engineer will commonly specify restraint straps tying the floor and ceiling structure back into the external walls, and may keep a pier or a short return where your sketch shows none. The order of demolition matters too, since the house has to be stable at every stage rather than only at the end. This is usually the point at which building control wants full plans rather than a building notice, because there is more to check and more that depends on the order it is built in.
