Fitting is a different job from a kitchen renovation, and it is worth being clear which one you need. Fitting is installation: strip out, services adjusted, units built and levelled, worktops templated and set, appliances integrated, tiling and finishing. A renovation may also move walls, windows and drainage. We do both, but the fit is what we are describing here.
We regularly install kitchens supplied by trade and retail suppliers, rigid or flat pack, and we are happy to work from your supplier's plan. Two things make or break a supply-only fit, and both happen before we start.
Where you would rather not manage the supply at all, we can price the kitchen as a supplied and fitted project instead. That puts the units, worktops, appliances and labour on one itemised quotation and one point of responsibility.
A straightforward like-for-like fit in a London home takes roughly a week to ten working days, plus the wait for a stone worktop. A fit that changes the layout, moves the sink or opens the room up takes longer, because the services and sometimes the structure move with it. This is the usual shape of the work.

Laminate worktops are cut and fitted on site, which removes the wait entirely. If your programme matters more than the material, say so at the quotation stage and we will tell you honestly what the difference costs you.

The single most requested change in London kitchens is taking out the wall between the kitchen and the rear reception room. The moment that comes up, the job stops being a fit and becomes structural work, and it needs handling accordingly.
If the wall is load bearing, a steel beam has to carry what the wall was carrying. We appoint an independent structural engineer to size the beam and specify the padstones, we prop the structure temporarily, we install to that design, and building control inspects and signs it off. Where the wall is shared with a neighbour, a Party Wall Act notice is normally required as well. We are the contractor on that work, not the engineer, and the calculations always come from a qualified engineer we appoint on your behalf.

Add roughly 10 to 14 days between the units being fitted and the stone worktop being installed, because stone is templated only once the carcasses are set and levelled. Laminate worktops are cut on site and remove that wait. Layout changes, moved services or a wall removal extend the programme.
Yes. Supply-only fitting is normal work for us, rigid or flat pack, and we are happy to work to your supplier's plan. We would strongly recommend we survey the room before the order is finalised, because showroom plans are drawn from customer measurements and London walls are rarely square.
A like-for-like kitchen replacement does not need planning permission. Kitchens stopped counting as a special location under Part P in April 2013, so a like-for-like swap is not notifiable, but any new circuit or consumer unit work is and must be certified, and any gas, drainage or ventilation alteration must meet building regulations. If you remove a wall to open the room up, that needs an engineer's calculations and building control sign-off. We manage building control on your behalf.
