Southwark is a long, narrow borough and the housing changes completely as you move through it. In much of the borough, yes, but not everywhere. A single-storey rear extension is commonly limited to three metres on a terraced or semi-detached house and four on a detached one, with more available under prior approval. Conservation areas and Article 4 directions remove those rights, and Southwark Council has designated a significant number of such areas.
We do, if you have not already appointed one. GS Renovation is a contractor, so we commission the engineer, work to the calculations and drawings they issue, and build the steelwork and support exactly to that design. We do not produce structural calculations ourselves. Keeping those two roles separate is what makes the building control sign-off straightforward.
Yes, and it is common in managed blocks. We agree hours with the building manager, book the goods lift, sheet and protect the communal route in and out, and phase the work so a bathroom or kitchen stays usable for as long as possible. Waste is removed in bags or containers rather than tipped into a street skip.
